Where Patriot Appliance & Air Conditioning Repair is the better fit
Several of the calls we get are calls that should go to them.
- The refrigerator, washer, dryer or oven is the problem. Patriot Appliance & Air Conditioning Repair repairs household appliances across a long list of brands, GE and Whirlpool through Sub-Zero. Comfort Pros does not touch appliances. If the AC and the fridge both quit in the same week, one call to them covers both.
- It is the middle of the night or a Sunday. Their footer lists hours of 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and their emergency page says the same. Comfort Pros does not run after-hours dispatch and Sunday calls wait for Monday morning.
- You heat with a boiler, heating oil, LP gas or a geothermal system. All four are on their heating list. None is on ours.
- You live in Lakeway, Bee Cave, Dripping Springs, Pflugerville or West Lake Hills. Those are on their service list and not on ours, which runs north and west of Austin.
- You want a veteran-owned business. Their site says the company is veteran and family-owned. That matters to some homeowners, and it is a fair reason to choose.
Where Comfort Pros is the better call
- You want a Carrier system from the dealer that registers it. Patriot lists Carrier among the brands it works on. We are a Carrier factory authorized dealer: factory trained on the lines we install, and the equipment is registered for manufacturer warranty coverage at installation. - You want to see the license number before you call. Ours is in the footer of every page, TACL# TACLB116912E, so you can look it up yourself. Theirs is on file with the state, as the table shows, but their site does not print it.
- You want a shop that does heating and cooling and nothing else. Our technicians spend every day on HVAC systems. That is a narrower business, and it is the one we chose.
- You are in Liberty Hill, Lago Vista, Jonestown or on the Lake Travis side. Those are on our list and not on theirs.
- You want a replacement sized from a load calculation and financing on the table. Every AC replacement we quote starts with a load calculation on the house, and financing through a third-party lender is offered on new equipment. Their site does not mention financing.
- You want a maintenance plan with a name and a schedule. Our maintenance plan is two visits a year with priority scheduling and a parts discount.
Both companies hold active Texas contractor licenses and both are Leander businesses. If the job is an appliance, an unusual heating fuel, or a two-in-the-morning call, they are the right shop. If it is a Carrier install, a repair inside our hours, or a home on the lake side, call us.
